Stamford Museum and Nature center

I'm so sorry I forgot to post the pictures from our trip to the Nature Center. We went to two classes. One was about matter and the other was on maps. Ask your child about the experiments they did and the map they made. We had a great trip despite the rain that day. 

I hope everyone enjoys their family time this Thanksgiving holiday. 

And please send back the verification for your report card conference. Report cards go home on December 4 and conferences are the following week. Hope to see you!

Room change

It's really true! We'll be back in our room on Monday! I'll take pictures them and post them.

We are going to the Stamford museum on Thursday. Please send a bag lunch with your child.

Halloween

Springdale School celebrated Halloween today with our parade outside. Then the students danced along with the specialists and administrators. We then went inside for some yummy treats. I hope everyone has an exciting and safe Halloween!

We are going to be down in our temporary quarters in the art room for one more week. But our classroom is looking good!  

Please make sure that your children are reading at least 20 minutes per day!

Bartlett Arboretum

We had a wonderful trip today! The weather was perfect. Todd gave us great experiences in the classroom and outside. We observed different types of seeds and learned how seeds travel. Then we walked through the arboretum to see some different types of trees. 

Field trip tomorrow!

We're going to the Bartlett Arbotetum tomorrow.

Remember to give your child a bag lunch.

Fire safety

Today the Deputy Fire Marshal came to give the second graders a talk on home fire safety. Ask your child what rules they learned!

Then the children got to meet a firefighter in his gear and sit in a fire truck!
